Outpatient Addiction and Mental Health Treatment for Bend, Oregon
Care for Bend, from just up the road.
If you live in Bend, you can get outpatient treatment and counseling with us. Our office is in Redmond, about 20 minutes north on Highway 97, and some of your care can happen at home.
Where care actually happens
Rock Recovery is an OHA-certified outpatient provider, and our office is in Redmond at 1243 SW Highland Ave, Suite C. We do not have a building in Bend. What we have is a short drive. Bend to Redmond is about 17 miles straight up Highway 97, roughly 20 to 25 minutes, and plenty of the people we work with make that drive from Bend every week. Telehealth covers a lot of the rest.
We are outpatient only. That means counseling, groups, education, and support you come to and then go home from. We do not run a detox unit, we do not have beds, and we do not prescribe medication. If you need any of those, we will say so plainly after your assessment and help you connect with a medical provider who does. Being honest about what we are is part of the work.
We accept the Oregon Health Plan, and most OHP members pay nothing out of pocket. We serve Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties, so Bend is squarely inside the area we cover. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 7pm. If you want to know whether we are a fit before you commit to anything, call (541) 234-3081 and ask. A phone call costs you nothing.

Getting here from Bend.
The drive is simple. Head north on Highway 97 out of Bend, stay on it through the Redmond exits, and you are at 1243 SW Highland Ave, Suite C in about 20 to 25 minutes. Parking is straightforward, so you are not circling a block looking for a spot before an appointment. DUII education and treatment classes run on weekday evenings, which means you can finish your work day, drive up, and still get home at a reasonable hour. Counseling appointments can often happen by telehealth instead, from your kitchen table. We will build the schedule around your life, not the other way around.
About 20 to 25 minutes
Bend to Redmond is roughly 17 miles north on Highway 97. For most people that is a shorter trip than the one they already make for work, and it is the same drive every time.
Evening classes, so work stays work
DUII education and treatment classes meet on weekday evenings. You keep your job, your paycheck, and your day, and you still meet the requirement the court gave you. Office hours run Monday through Friday, 8am to 7pm.
Telehealth for what does not need a room
Plenty of counseling works just as well over video. If the roads are bad, or your car is down, or you simply cannot make the drive that week, we can often meet by telehealth instead of skipping it.

What Bend residents come to us for.
These five come up most often with people driving up from Bend, and all of them are outpatient and OHA certified.
Outpatient substance use treatment
State-certified outpatient care at ASAM Level 1. That means an assessment first, then individual, group, and family counseling built around your pace. You live at home, keep working, and come in for sessions.
Mental health counseling
Licensed outpatient counseling for anxiety, depression, trauma, and the things recovery tends to stir up. You can do this alongside substance use treatment or entirely on its own. Many of these sessions work fine by telehealth.
DUII education and treatment
OHA-certified DUII education and treatment with weekday evening classes, so a court requirement does not cost you your job. The ADES evaluation itself is done by Central Oregon Evaluation Services in Bend, then you choose your provider.
Early intervention
If your use is early or at risk but not a disorder, there is a shorter path. Early intervention at ASAM Level 0.5 is a straight read on where you actually are, plus brief education, without a label attached.
Peer support and recovery mentors
Certified recovery mentors who have lived this themselves, walking beside you between appointments and after treatment ends. For someone commuting from Bend, that steady contact between sessions can matter as much as the sessions.
See the full list on our services page, or read how DUII classes and treatment work if that is what brought you here.
Recovery in a town that stays busy.
Bend is a place where a lot of life happens outdoors and a lot of it happens around a drink. Breweries, trailhead tailgates, season passes, work crews that end the day the same way every day. None of that makes you a failure for struggling with it. It just means the pressure is real and constant, and willpower alone is a thin plan. It also means running into people you know is a genuine concern. Driving up to Redmond puts a little distance between your treatment and your daily life, and for some people that space is exactly what makes it possible to start.
Most of our clients are covered by the Oregon Health Plan, which covers outpatient treatment at no cost for most members.
