Oregon Health Plan

Do not have OHP? You may still qualify.

The Oregon Health Plan covers a large share of Oregonians, and the income limits are higher than most people assume. There is no premium for most members, and enrollment is open all year, not just during a window in the fall. If you are between jobs, working part time, self employed, or your hours just got cut, it is worth checking.

  1. 1Apply online at One.Oregon.gov. The state application takes most people under an hour. You can also apply by phone or on paper if that is easier.
  2. 2Ask us for help with it. We do this often. Call the office and we will walk you through the application and what to have in front of you before you start.
  3. 3Start care while it processes. If your application is pending, tell us. We will talk through your options so a paperwork delay does not become a reason to wait.

Insurance & billing questions

Does the Oregon Health Plan cover addiction treatment at Rock Recovery?
Yes; OHP covers our outpatient substance use treatment, ASAM Level 1, and early intervention, ASAM Level 0.5, typically at no cost to members.
How much does treatment cost without insurance?
$225 per individual mental health session self-pay, with a sliding scale based on income; OHP covers outpatient addiction services at no cost.
What insurance do you accept for mental health counseling?
Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, First Choice Health, Medicaid, Medicare, Moda Health, Oregon Health Plan, PacificSource, Providence Health Plan, and Regence.
How do I verify my coverage before my first visit?
Call (541) 234-3081 and we verify your benefits with you before you commit to anything.
Do you accept the Oregon Health Plan for DUII services?
OHP is accepted for outpatient addiction services; DUII-specific coverage varies, so call us to confirm.
Do I need a referral to use my OHP benefits here?
No. You can call us directly at (541) 234-3081 and schedule an assessment yourself. You do not need a doctor to refer you, and you do not need to have tried another program first. If you were referred by a court, probation officer, or attorney, bring that paperwork with you.
Which OHP plan covers Central Oregon?
OHP benefits in Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties are administered through a coordinated care organization, and most members in this region are enrolled with PacificSource Community Solutions. If you do not know which plan you have, call us and we will look it up with you.
What if my OHP lapsed or I am not enrolled yet?
Tell us anyway. OHP enrollment is open year round, not just in the fall, and the income limits are higher than most people expect. You can apply at One.Oregon.gov, and we are glad to help you through the application. Call us and we will figure out the timing together.
Does OHP cover mental health counseling too?
The Oregon Health Plan covers mental health services broadly. At Rock Recovery, our mental health counseling also accepts most major commercial plans, and self-pay is $225 per session with a sliding scale for those who qualify. Call and we will confirm what your specific plan covers.
